Soul Gathering

Seen as if from above, a ring of small figures gathers shoulder to shoulder around a still centre, each one drawn with plain, patient care. Adair makes the circle itself the subject — belonging rendered as geometry, the oldest human shape. There is warmth in the crowd and reverence in the hush at its middle. It is a picture of what it feels like to be held by a community.
